Each state needs a competent medical workforce to meet the needs of it’s citizens. However, the requirements for some health care professions are not the same in each state. That is why it is important to find out what is required of you as a future or current registered nurse before moving across state lines. Contact information is located at the bottom of this page.
The general requirements for endorsement in the state of Nevada are listed below:
Complete your application and submit it with a fingerprint card
Applicable fees
Submit proof of your graduation from a nursing program
International nursing school graduates must pass the TOEFL or Pearson Test of English Academic if they have been licensed less than five years in the US
Verification/endorsement of original state of licensure at Nursys
The Nevada Board of Nursing also requires applicants to have a valid Social Security number, passing NCLEX scores, and current, permanent licensure.

Foreign graduates of international nursing programs must submit a copy of your transcript that indicates nursing degree and date of graduation. The Board will contact you if you are required to complete the CGFNS/CES report. CGFNS Link.
Registered nurses must complete 30 hours of continuing education in order to renew their licenses. All courses must be nursing related. Exceptions may be made for newly licensed nurses. That is, if you have been licensed within the last two years, then you may not have to take complete an additional 30 hours for your initial license renewal. However, all RNs must take a one-time, four-hour bioterrorism CE class.
