Each state needs a competent medical workforce to meet the needs of it’s citizens. However, the requirements for some health care professions are not the same in each state. That is why it is important to find out what is required of you as a future or current registered nurse before moving across state lines. Contact information is located at the bottom of this page.

Complete application with application fee
Application fee is $54, with temporary license it’s $64.
Passing NCLEX or SBTPE scores
Criminal background check
Once the Board had received and reviewed your application you will be mailed an Application Confirmation letter which will contain instructions on how to complete the Criminal Background Check.
License verification from state or from www.nursys.com
US Social Security Number
Foreign applicants educated outside of U.S. must have a Professional Report completed by the CGFNS sent to the Board office - Link.
You will have to take at least 25 contact hours for renewal. Renewals take place every two years. 1 hour must be in pain and pain symptom management. Click herefor more details.
