Each state needs a competent medical workforce to meet the needs of it’s citizens. However, the requirements for some health care professions are not the same in each state. Renewalsshould be completed by the day of your birth on even numbered years following your next birthday, it costs $120 and may be completed online, click here

If you need written license verification or a certification of standing for a foreign country or agency other than a state board of nursing, you must send your request to the Board’s office with the required fee of $15.

All Non-U.S. educated nurses applying for Licensure by Reciprocity must now complete a Commission on Graduate of Foreign Nursing Schools Evaluation (CGFNS). For more information click here

Continuing competency

You will be required to take 15 hours of continuing education between renewal periods. Click hereto learn more about continuing education. CE must include training on the issue of domestic and sexual violence as a condition of licensure and renewal.

This state requires nurses to hold current ACLS certification.

ACLS PROVIDER

ACLS provides skills to manage cardiopulmonary arrest or other cardiovascular emergencies, to recognize and manage respiratory arrest, and to provide services in emergency situations.

PALS PROVIDER

PALS is for those who respond to emergencies in children and infants, provide intensive care, emergency medicine, and provide services in critical care units to pediatric patients.

BLS PROVIDER

BLS course provides training for prompt recognition of several life-threatening emergencies, delivering appropriate ventilations, and provision of high-quality chest compressions.
